Primary Duties and Responsibilities:	The Department of Architecture in the O’More College of Architecture and Design at Belmont University seeks applications for a faculty position beginning August 1, 2026, either as a tenure-track faculty or professor of practice (see “Required Qualifications” below). Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Preparing and teaching undergraduate courses as integrated in the program’s curriculum of seminar and studio courses with an emphasis on areas of expertise in architectural or urban design, architectural history/theory, professional practice, or building technology. Student recruitment, academic advising, mentoring, and retention in alignment with and in support of the University’s Christ-centered mission and values statement. Scholarly and/or creative activity commensurate with rank appointment College and university service The successful candidate will pursue these aspects of faculty life and within an ecumenical, student-focused environment that brings together the best of liberal arts and professional education in a Christ-centered community of learning and service. In addition to the above essential functions and responsibilities of this faculty position, basic functions as required by Provost Office include: Complete 24 workload hours, or equivalent, per academic year. Advise and mentor students in research and other class-related projects. Engage in activities to support the mission and vision of Belmont University and the college in which you teach. Participate in departmental and university committee work. Engage in scholarly activity and professional development. Advise students in course selection and degree completion. Participate in a local church and the community. Abide by all relevant university and/or department procedures and policies. Manage online grading system. Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Knowledge of the programs and services offered by Belmont University. Interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

Required Education	A terminal degree in architecture or a closely related field (e.g.Ph.D., M.Arch., or foreign equivalent) is required for appointment in a tenure-track position. Applicants without acknowledged terminal degrees but holding similar appropriate credentials and/or a record of significant professional accomplishment will be considered for appointment as Professor of Practice.

Required Experience	Teaching experience for Professors of Practice is not required, however it is a preferred qualification for additional consideration in the selection process when the candidate has demonstrated effectiveness teaching at the college level
