Job Description

Job Summary

The Music Teacher is responsible for providing high‑quality music instruction in a faith‑centered Catholic school environment. This role supports student creativity, musical development, and appreciation of music while integrating Catholic values into instruction and school life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide music instruction to students in Preschool through designated grade levels
  • Teach music fundamentals including rhythm, melody, movement, vocal technique, and music literacy
  • Create engaging, age‑appropriate lessons that encourage participation and confidence
  • Prepare students for school performances such as concerts, assemblies, and seasonal programs
  • Support and assist with music for school liturgies, Masses, and prayer services
  • Foster a structured, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Collaborate with school administration and teachers as needed
  • Communicate effectively with students and families regarding expectations and activities
  • Support the mission and values of Catholic education through positive role modeling

Schedule

  • School‑day hours
  • Follows the academic school calendar
  • Part‑time or full‑time schedule based on school needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or related field preferred
  • Experience teaching music to children preferred
  • Knowledge of age‑appropriate instructional strategies
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to inspire student engagement and appreciation for music
  • Commitment to Catholic values and the mission of Catholic education
  • Ability to meet all background check and Safe Environment requirement
