Job Description

The Indiana Online Student Success Specialist is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the program in a hybrid setting. The Student Success Specialist will be responsible for analyzing data reporting, looking at trends, identifying students at risk, assisting in communication with counselors, teachers of record, and parents, and supporting the student’s IEP/504/ILP. Calendar Length: Full Time (260 days)
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000

Position Summary
The Indiana Online Student Success Specialist is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day
operations of the program in a hybrid setting. The Student Success Specialist will be responsible for
analyzing data reporting, looking at trends, identifying students at risk, assisting in communication
with counselors, teachers of record, and parents, and supporting the student’s IEP/504/ILP. This
position will act as the Teacher of Service for assigned students with accommodations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
● Develop and maintain relationships with school teachers of record as assigned, as well
as counselors, as needed.
● Coordinate all IEP/504/ILP processes including contact with students, parents,
counselors, and teachers of record to attain accurate accommodation information.
● Create and maintain processes and reporting structure for notifying teachers of students
with accommodations.
● Assist in maintaining the database systems for student accounts and school data.
● Prepare reports from the student database system to track data on student
performance.
● Provide effective provisions based on Individual Education Plans as Teacher of Service
for specific contracts.
● Keep detailed documentation of all special education progress monitoring and other
required record keeping from resource sessions.
● Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal special education law.
● Assist with and provide guidance to parents and students regarding learning in an online
learning environment.
● Serve as a district liaison to help counselors and teachers of record with enrollments,
student accounts, and grade reporting.
● Represent Indiana Online on committees and workgroups as requested.
● Assist with answering the phones.
● Contribute to new initiatives to further the growth of the program.
● Report directly to and is evaluated by the Student Services & Accommodations Manager.
● Complete other tasks or duties as assigned by the Indiana Online Assistant Director and/or
the Director.

Other Duties and Tasks:
● Attend all required Indiana Online and CIESC meetings.
● Attend company-wide functions as requested.
● Engage in professional learning opportunities per organization or supervisor’s request.
● Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required education, certifications and licensures:
● Bachelor’s Degree with a special education teaching license for grades 6-12 required.
● Master’s Degree in education, special education, or counseling preferred.
Required Experience:
● Must reside in Indiana.
● At least 3 years in a special education setting.
● Experience with a Learning Management System.
● Proven student centered approach focusing on student data and achievement.
● Team player track record.
● Demonstrated leadership ability in an educational environment.
Desired Experience
● Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast paced environment.
● Experience with Canvas LMS.
● Experience working with interactive resources and web based tools.
● Familiarity with open educational resources. (OER)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Expert level technology skills. (Specifically Google Suite)
● Highly organized and punctual with superior attention to detail.
● Ability to be a self-starter and multitask.
● Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
● High degree of flexibility.
● Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with all stakeholders.
Work Environment and/or Physical Demands:
● Ability to provide occasional evening hours as needed.
● Ability to report to the office two days a week and work remotely up to three days a week
with reliable internet access and functional computer with camera capability.
