Description

Position Overview

The Process Engineer will play a critical role in developing and optimizing batch production and manufacturing processes with a strong focus on improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This position is also responsible for leading select continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven analysis. The Process Engineer will work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to drive process excellence across the facility.
 
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
 
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput, reduce cycle time, and increase yield.
  • Evaluate and improve production methods, materials, equipment, and procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiency and safety.
  • Lead efforts in designing, testing, and implementing process improvements for both new and existing production lines.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations to troubleshoot process issues and improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Prepare detailed process documentation, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and process validation reports.
  • Collect and analyze production data using statistical tools to drive data-based decision making and improvements.
  • Develop and propose capital projects aimed at expanding plant capabilities and optimizing resource use.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies in identifying, scoping, and executing cost reduction or quality improvement projects.
  • Support employee training and knowledge sharing on new processes and continuous improvement tools.
  • Ensure adherence to GMPs, safety regulations, and quality standards throughout all process engineering initiatives.

Requirements
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Process, Industrial, Mechanical, or related discipline)
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or FDA-regulated environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, SPC)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools; ERP experience preferred
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
 
 
Physical Demands
This role requires regular movement throughout the manufacturing facility in addition to office-based work. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
