POSITION SUMMARY:

Habitat Management, Inc.—an environmental consulting firm focused on ecological restoration and land

management—is hiring Part-Time Environmental Field Technicians for the 2026 field season. This is a

hands-on, outdoor role ideal for college students, recent grads, or anyone studying environmental

science, biology, ecology, or natural resources who wants real-world experience beyond the classroom.

This seasonal position starts in the April/May time frame (weather dependent) and runs through the

fall, offering paid, field-based experience that builds skills employers in environmental and natural resource

fields are looking for.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be part of a field team restoring and protecting land across Colorado. Duties may include:

• Managing noxious weeds and invasive species

• Identifying, mapping, planting, and seeding native vegetation

• Supporting erosion control and land restoration projects

• Operating and maintaining ATV/UTV and field equipment

• Installing log and straw sediment control barriers

• Collecting GPS data and navigating remote job sites

• Performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50+ pounds

• Following safety protocols in dynamic outdoor environments

Why You’ll Love This Role

• Work outside every day in Colorado’s natural landscapes

• Gain resume-boosting field experience in ecological restoration

• Operate ATVs/UTVs and learn equipment maintenance

• Build practical skills in plant identification, GPS mapping, and erosion control

• Flexible field schedules that work around school commitments

• Potential internship credit (where applicable)
