Signs of Success - Santa Maria, CA
Full-Time | In Person

Signs of Success is a growing architectural and commercial signage company seeking a Project Manager - Signage Construction Operations to help manage priorities, risks, schedules, installations, change orders, and closeout across 100+ active projects.

This is a leadership-level operations role, not an administrative coordinator position. We are looking for someone with strong construction judgment, urgency, field awareness, and follow-through who can quickly identify what is missing, stalled, risky, or unresolved.

What You’ll Own

Project Kickoff & Risk Review
Review takeoffs, plans, specifications, schedules, and project documents to identify scope gaps, site issues, access needs, electrical requirements, permitting concerns, install risks, and missing information early.

Scheduling & Priority Visibility
Coordinate with clients, contractors, PM/designers, production, vendors, and installers to understand timelines, installation windows, schedule risks, and project priorities.

Production & Installation Readiness
Help align field priorities with production lead times. Confirm materials, permits, hardware, drawings, install packets, site conditions, equipment needs, and installer readiness before scheduling.

Change Orders & RFIs
Track change orders, RFIs, approvals, rejected items, unresolved issues, and scope changes. Keep issues visible and moving until resolved.

Installation Management
Coordinate installations, select the right install team, schedule equipment, arrange travel or accommodations when needed, and support installers so work is completed professionally.

Punch List, Remobilization & Closeout
Debrief install teams, reset projects after partial completions, manage punch list items, keep stakeholders updated, and support closeout and billing.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of project management experience in signage or another specialty construction trade and can manage many active projects without constant direction.

Strong backgrounds may include signage, electrical, glazing, millwork, architectural products, commercial interiors, custom fabrication, low voltage, FF&E installation, or similar field-based trades.

You should be:

  •  Highly organized
  •  Professionally assertive
  •  Calm under pressure
  •  Strong with follow-through
  •  Comfortable reading plans and specs
  •  Practical, construction-minded, and solution-oriented
  •  Able to identify risk before it becomes a problem
  •  Comfortable working across many active projects at once
  •  Interested in improving systems, not just following them
Required Qualifications

  •  5+ years of project management experience in specialty construction or a related trade
  •  Experience coordinating field work, installations, vendors, clients, or contractors
  •  Ability to read plans, specs, drawings, schedules, or technical documents
  •  Experience with RFIs, change orders, project schedules, punch lists, and closeout
  •  Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills
  •  Comfort using spreadsheets, cloud tools, and project management systems
  •  Ability to work in person in Santa Maria, CA
Preferred Experience

  •  Signage industry experience
  •  Installation management experience
  •  Smartsheet, Excel, QuickBooks, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar systems
  •  Permitting, site walks, measurements, lifts, hardware, electrical coordination, or safety tracking
  •  Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Why This Role Matters

This role helps Signs of Success grow with stronger project control, better installation readiness, clearer priorities, and more consistent follow-through from kickoff through closeout.

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience, leadership ability, and specialty construction background.  Benefits include medical, dental, 401k, PTO, holidays, gym membership.

This is a high-impact role with long-term growth potential for someone who wants to help build stronger project systems inside a growing specialty construction company.
