Kappus Company is seeking a results-driven Field Service Supervisor to provide leadership, coaching, and clear direction to our Field Service Technicians. This role ensures employees work safely, meet customer demand, solve problems, eliminate waste, and achieve performance goals.

The Field Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing technicians who provide on-site technical support for commercial food service equipment. This includes installation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance to ensure proper equipment function and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who builds relationships, promotes accountability, and drives continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide ongoing leadership and direction to Field Service Technicians.
  • Actively manage, monitor, and coach direct reports.
  • Foster a culture centered on safety, customer service, engagement, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring input, timecard approvals, discipline, coaching, and termination input.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews with data-driven metrics and clearly defined profitability targets.
  • Lead and develop staff through on-the-job training, continual learning, and skill reinforcement.

Field Service Responsibilities

  • Ensure technicians have the information, tools, and training necessary to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
  • Provide technical resources to achieve low recall rates.
  • Escalate and resolve repetitive equipment issues.
  • Ensure Kappus service performance standards are consistently met.

Parts & Inventory Oversight

  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize parts inventory.
  • Monitor and ensure recalls remain within acceptable limits as determined by Taylor and Kappus.

Customer & Operational Excellence

  • Maintain strong client relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Meet or exceed service timeline expectations.
  • Define and improve systems, controls, and procedures for service operations.
  • Complete required reporting accurately and on time.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of both new and legacy equipment serviced by Kappus.
  • Manage service updates and special projects assigned.
  • Provide recommendations to management for continuous improvement of service operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in field service, technical service, or related industry
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
  • Proficiency with service management software and reporting tools
