Job Description

The general hourly rate for this position will be $50 - 60. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.

This is a non – Humane World for Animals position and will be employed through a 3rd party.

Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking On Call Law Enforcement Trainers for our Outreach Engagement, and Training department. These positions will be responsible for conducting training programs on animal cruelty and fighting investigations for law enforcement officers.


Each position will be responsible for:
• Conducting training sessions covering areas such as animal abuse and fighting investigations, animal cruelty and violent crimes, equine cruelty investigations and police/dog encounters;
• Fostering relationships with students and host agencies on behalf of Humane World for Animals;
• Consulting with the Law Enforcement Training Coordinator on training opportunities;  
• Coordinating training schedules with the hiring and training demands of the Law Enforcement Training Center; will also be formulating a teaching outline and determining instructional methods including individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, and workshops;
• Administering testing for trainees to measure progress and effectiveness of training; will be responsible for reporting on the progress of employees during training periods.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• One year of related training experience required;
• Experience working closely with law enforcement on animal crimes required;
• Must have strong knowledge of animal cruelty laws and investigations and a solid   understanding of the link between animal abuse and interpersonal violence;
• Excellent verbal communication skills and experience within public speaking;
• Must be able to and willing to travel.

This position will be based from a home office location within any state in the Continental United States with travel required.
