Electrician


 


Qualifications: A high school diploma


                        A minimum of three years of experience in electrical maintenance with vocational training preferred.


                        A working knowledge of motor control repair


                        A knowledge of heating and air-conditioning systems


                        A demonstrated ability to read blueprints and instructions


                        A capability of climbing and working at heights


 


Reports To: Superintendent of Education, Deputy Superintendent, Director of Maintenance, and/or the Superintendent’s designee


 


Job Goal: To work with fellow employees in performing all job assignments in an economical and timely fashion.


 


Missions and Goals                                                                                        



  • Works with the Superintendent and those who he/she supervises to articulate and promote the school system's

    • vision of learning and teaching                                                                                  



  • Monitors and evaluates progress toward accomplishment of the system’s goals and objectives  

  • Ensures that unit and program plans are consistent with the system's strategic plan                  

  • Organizes daily, monthly, and yearly schedules to facilitate learning and teaching in the schools


 


General Responsibilities                                                                                                          



  • Conducts electrical repairs on all types of electrical devices                                                  

  • Implements work orders assigned to him/her by supervisor                                                  

  • Assist supervisor in monitoring the district's energy management and conservation program  

  • Reports to maintenance office the amount of time and list of parts used on each job assignment  

  • Inspects mechanical equipment on a regular schedule or as assigned by the supervisor  

  • Makes recommendations to the supervisor on equipment repair needs                                  

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, the Deputy Superintendent, the Director of Maintenance, and/or the Superintendent's designee


 


Terms of Employment:  Twelve months per year salary and work year will be established by the Board of Trustees.


 


Evaluation:   Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
