Job Description

To raise the school’s academic achievement of all students through structured, job-embedded support designed to enhance classroom instructional practices.  Facilitate continuous improvement in classroom instruction by providing instructional support to teachers in the elements of research-based instruction and by demonstrating the alignment of instruction with curriculum standards and assessment tools. 


 


Qualifications:



  1.  Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

  2.  Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness 

  3. Valid Arkansas teaching certificate for secondary grades (7-12).

  4. Experience in planning and presenting professional development to colleagues or other educators. 

  5. Master’s degree in education, curriculum, instruction, or reading preferred. 

  6. Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills


Performance Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


 



  1. Work collaboratively with building and district leadership, as well as external partners related to the implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process. 

  2. Promotes the fidelity of core classroom instruction through regular, effective planning, use of district curriculum, adopted resources, proven instructional practices, and assessments. 

  3. Utilizes coaching strategies including modeling, guidance, and collaboration/reflection to fully implement PBSD curriculum, instructional design, and materials. 

  4. Disaggregates and uses student, school, and district data to guide instructional conversations and collaboration with the school leadership team, individual classroom teachers, and groups of teachers. 

  5. Assist teachers in utilizing current and upcoming technologies to engage and enhance student learning. 

  6. Serves as an instructional leader for the school, focusing on raising the rigor of instruction and the level of academic achievement for all students. 

  7. Provides supplemental assistance to identified students.

  8. Plans and delivers professional development at the school and district level. 

  9. Attends identified training, implements new learning, and serves as a liaison between the school and the secondary curriculum department.

  10. Supports the PLC process by working collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve.

  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
