Team & Culture
We are seeking local candidates in the West Kootenays BC to join our heavy civil construction team on a day and night shift, non-camp basis. Our projects are fast-paced, physically demanding, and require individuals capable of performing 12 hour shifts with consistency and professionalism. The ideal candidate takes direction effectively while demonstrating the ability to work independently. Civil construction labour experience is considered a strong asset. Reliable personal transportation to site or a designated marshalling point is required.
Responsibilities
- Complete all assigned labour duties as instructed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on tasks as project needs evolve
- Fuel equipment and generators in accordance with site safety protocols
- Execute concrete repairs and perform work on concrete slopes as directed
- Perform general site maintenance, housekeeping, and cleanup to ensure a safe and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and fellow crew members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Collaborate as a productive team member while maintaining the ability to work independently when required
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Previous heavy civil construction labour experience is considered a strong asset
- Must be physically fit and capable of performing 12 hour shifts both day and night, with varied shift schedules including 5/2, 6/1, and 14/7 rotations
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team while maintaining the capacity to work independently when required
- Demonstrated willingness to complete and perform tasks as instructed on an as-needed basis
- Fall Protection certification required, or willingness to obtain
- Confined Space certification required, or willingness to obtain
- Valid WorkSafeBC Advanced First Aid certificate (formerly OFA Level 3) is preferred and considered a strong asset
- Must be able to successfully complete a BC Hydro NERC Background Check covering a 7 year history
- Candidates must supply their own personal PPE including a hard hat, safety boots, and high-visibility vest; all additional PPE will be provided.
- Reliable personal transportation to site is required
- Must be available for the full project duration of August and September 2026, with potential opportunities for continued employment thereafter
