Varsity Volleyball Coach – Climax-Scotts Jr/Sr High School
Job Summary:
Climax-Scotts Jr/Sr High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Varsity Volleyball Coach to lead our high school volleyball program. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering athletic excellence, personal growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship in student-athletes. This position includes planning and leading practices, coaching contests, developing team strategy, and building a cohesive volleyball program aligned across all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices, conditioning sessions, and skill development drills
- Coach and manage all varsity volleyball games and tournaments
- Teach and reinforce proper techniques, game strategies, and rules of volleyball
- Supervise and collaborate with sub-varsity coaches to ensure program consistency and development
- Promote academic success, character development, and positive team culture
- Maintain inventory, care of equipment, and assist with program budgeting
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, coaching staff, athletic director, and school administration
- Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and MHSAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous coaching experience in volleyball is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and strategies
- Ability to effectively teach, motivate, and develop student-athletes
- Strong leadership skills with a commitment to being a positive role model
- Ability to organize, manage, and work with individuals and groups
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
