Job Function

 

Reporting into the Production Supervisor , the Green Room Operator will be based out of Westfield, MA and will be responsible for operating sizing room equipment to separate ranges of particle sizes of aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, and other abrasives from dispersion following established methods and procedures.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Fill draw tanks with abrasive slurry from central mixing tank.

  • Use measuring procedures to determine density of the product

  • Draw water from sixing tanks

  • Provide quality with samples

  • Remove material from tanks

  • Cut and settle material into 12 inch squares with shovel

  • Bending and lifting to transfer blocks then setting them into drying pans.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • Dry load trays

  • Clean equipment pans, hose floor

  • Maintain cleanly work area.

Required Experience

 

  •  Prior manufacturing experience preferred High School Education or GED

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task under time constraints.

    Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift, shovel, scoop, and move continuously during an 8-hour shift

    Work in non-temperature-controlled environment

    The wearing of the following PPE required provided by the company: hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, Gloves, respirator required based on exposure

     

     

    Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:   

     

    This position shall maintain compliance with all Federal, State and Local Environmental, Health & Safety Regulations, at all times.  The employee in this position shall maintain compliance with all Ferro Safety Standards as well as EHS rules/requirements of the site at all times.  Respirator may need to be worn on occasion
