Job Description



This is a remote position.


We are seeking an Enterprise GIS Functional Lead with deep experience designing and developing ArcGIS Pro solutions for Landbase and non‑asset enterprise layers (roads, access roads, wildfire regions, landmarks, easements, boundaries, etc.). This role requires someone who has done this before and can provide functional guidance, data standards, and best practices for building and maintaining these layers at scale with at least some knowledge of the utilities sector. 

Responsibilities

• Lead functional design for ArcGIS Pro Landbase and enterprise non‑asset layers.

• Define data standards, governance, and best practices for roads, wildfire regions, landmarks, and other non‑asset datasets.

• Partner with technical GIS developers, data modelers, and business stakeholders.

• Guide the team on what to track, how to track it, and how to maintain data quality.

• Support integration with enterprise GIS systems and downstream consumers.

• Provide functional oversight during design, development, QA, and deployment.

Requirements


• 7+ years in GIS functional leadership roles.

• Strong hands‑on experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and landbase/non‑asset data models.

• Experience with utilities, wildfire mapping, land management, or environmental datasets.

• Ability to define requirements, standards, and workflows with minimal hand‑holding.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.


Nice to Have

• Experience with ESRI Utility Network (even if non‑asset focused).

• Familiarity with FME, Python, or QA workflows.

• Prior work with state or local government, utilities, or wildfire‑related GIS programs.

• Location: Remote, with 1–2 trips/month to Southern California (Mon–Thu typical onsite cadence)

• Start: ASAP 

• Duration: 6‑month minimum, likely 3–4 years
