Job Description

Acadian Total Security, a division of Acadian Companies, has an immediate opening for a full-time Alarm Dispatcher to join their team in Lafayette, LA. 

 

Job Summary: Verifies and dispatches the proper authorities for residential and commercial alarm customers.

 

Shift: 12 Hour Shifts With Rotating On/Off Schedule

  • Handles incoming alarm calls and dispatches the proper authorities for residential and commercial alarm customers
  • Answers phone calls from end users and dealers
  • Answers incoming phone calls and takes messages for dealers and end users
  • Handles special projects and dealer/end user issues specifically requested by the alarm manager
  • Works with computer alarm automation software to efficiently handle alarms
  • Contacts individuals to inform them of alarm-related issues
  • Assists the alarm center any time there is a natural disaster or other emergencies

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of the job:

  1. High School diploma or GED
  2. Must be PC literate with some familiarity with MS Word and Excel
  3. Strong organizational skills
  4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  5. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
