Job Description

Doyle Security Services (DSS) is currently seeking UNARMED SECURITY OFFICERS for a college campus in Nassau County, NY.

Locations & Shifts:

Old Wesbury: Friday & Saturday 1500-2300 Payrate: $19.00/hr.

Old Wesbury: Thursday - Sunday 2300-0700 Payrate: $19.00/hr.

JOB SUMMARY:

Unarmed Security Officer assigned to a college campus is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This role includes conducting regular patrols of campus grounds and facilities, monitoring access points, responding to incidents and emergencies, and enforcing campus policies and procedures. The officer provides customer service while remaining vigilant for suspicious activity or safety hazards. Strong communication, observation, and conflict resolution skills are essential, as the officer must accurately document incidents, collaborate with campus administration and local authorities when necessary, and uphold a professional presence at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting activities and incidents at the assigned site to ensure the safety and security of personnel and property.
  • Conducts regular foot patrols and completes scans.
  • Maintains order and enforces site-specific regulations and directives related to personnel, visitors, and the premises.
  • Securing premises inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
  • Tasks assigned by supervisor or manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • 5-7 Year U.S. work history may be required.
  • Valid NYS Security Guard License.
  • Must have a valid driver License.
  • This position requires the ability to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to understand the English language and communicate effectively in both the verbal and written form.
  • Must be physically able to perform the tasks required by the position.
