Job Description

About the Department

Keep your day job and contracting business!  TVCC is currently seeking qualified candidates to teach a variety of lessons to Year 2 and/or Year 4 electrical apprenticeship students within the TVCC Electrical Apprenticeship program. 

Position Duties

Instructors will provide classroom instruction and preparation on the following topics:

   Year 2 Instructors:

  • Commercial blueprint reading
  • Three-phase theory and calculations
  • Transformer theory and applications
  • AC theory, power factor and impedance
  • NEC code chapters 2-7

  Year 4 Instructors:

  • Oregon & Idaho license exam preparation
  • Comprehensive NEC code review
  • Test-taking strategies and practice exams
  • Advanced Technologies (PLCs, VFDs, Solar, EVs)
  • NFPA 70E safety standards

Minimum Qualifications

MANDATORY:  

  • Oregon or Idaho Journeyman Card
  • 5+ years working in the Electrical trade
  • Ability to teach complex concepts clearly
  • Passon for student success

Other Qualifications

This is a part-time, hourly position.  Schedule is one-day per week (6:00pm-10:00pm).  All curriculum is provided through TVCC (IEC Oregon) and all administrative tasks are handled by the Electrical Apprenticeship Coordinator.
