Keep your day job and contracting business! TVCC is currently seeking qualified candidates to teach a variety of lessons to Year 2 and/or Year 4 electrical apprenticeship students within the TVCC Electrical Apprenticeship program.
Position Duties
Instructors will provide classroom instruction and preparation on the following topics:
Year 2 Instructors:
- Commercial blueprint reading
- Three-phase theory and calculations
- Transformer theory and applications
- AC theory, power factor and impedance
- NEC code chapters 2-7
Year 4 Instructors:
- Oregon & Idaho license exam preparation
- Comprehensive NEC code review
- Test-taking strategies and practice exams
- Advanced Technologies (PLCs, VFDs, Solar, EVs)
- NFPA 70E safety standards
Minimum Qualifications
MANDATORY:
- Oregon or Idaho Journeyman Card
- 5+ years working in the Electrical trade
- Ability to teach complex concepts clearly
- Passon for student success
Other Qualifications
This is a part-time, hourly position. Schedule is one-day per week (6:00pm-10:00pm). All curriculum is provided through TVCC (IEC Oregon) and all administrative tasks are handled by the Electrical Apprenticeship Coordinator.
