Description

Skyworks solutions is seeking an experienced process and quality focused engineer within the Foundry Operations Engineering group.  We work with world class foundries to deliver process and device technologies for RF, CMOS, BCD products. We strive to maximize yield while maintaining performance and cost with zero-defect mindset to deliver best in class quality.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with product, quality, reliability and manufacturing teams to ensure the process technologies meets objectives.

  • Work with the foundry suppliers and SWKS foundry engineering group for yield improvement, process stability improvement, process capability improvement, defect reduction, outlier detection, process change, and test coverage.
  • Monitor process capability and process defect data from foundry suppliers and update internal scorecards.
  • Conduct process, product, and system audits of the supplier foundries.
  • Initiate problem solving and corrective actions for any quality issues, whether internal or external to Skyworks. Identify opportunities for continual improvement and driving to solutions. Lead small cross-functional teams that provides timely and accurate “root cause” and solutions to challenges facing the factory and Skyworks.
  • Actively manage Process Change Notice (PCN) from suppliers with the engineering and sourcing teams.

Required Experience and Skills

Masters Degree in Electrical, or Material Science Engineering

  • At least 8 years of experience in the semiconductor wafer manufacturing industry. Past experience work in a semiconductor wafer fab/foundry is required.
  • Knowledge/understanding of wafer fabrication processes (e.g., etching, deposition, photolithography) is the minimum initial requirement.
  • The desire/capability to gain more in-depth knowledge in a wide range of topics within semiconductors devices, process, product yield and quality will be necessary for future success in this role.
  • Experience as a Quality Engineer in semiconductor manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with 8D and various root cause analysis techniques.
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive/execute tasks for results. Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $129,400 - $247,800 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
