    Teachers for 2026 ESY Special Education summer program, summer school site.

    The district is seeking Special Education teachers for the following grade level positions:

    • Pre-K Special Education
    • VOICES Grades K-1
    • VOICES Grade 3
    • IRR Grades 2-3
    • Life Skills Grades K-1
    • Life Skills Grades 2-3
    • VOICES Grades 4-6
    • Life Skills Grades 4-6
    • Life Skills/VOICES Grades 7-8 (2 classes)
    • Life Skills Grades 9-10
    • Torrington Transition Academy/Life Skills Grades 11-12

    The Special Education Summer School classes will be held from July 13 through July 31, 2025, Monday through Friday, from 8:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. each week.   Applicants must hold a valid State of Connecticut teaching certificate with endorsement in Special Education (065, 165, 265) or equivalent/appropriate endorsement. Strong familiarity with appropriate special education teaching strategies and techniques. A wage of $51 per hour will be paid. 

    Torrington Public School personnel qualified for, certified for, and interested in the above must apply online at www.torrington.org/, by midnight, May 6, 2026. Appointments are contingent upon budget approval for the summer school program. 

    Please note this is a 3 week summer commitment
