- Conduct informal and formal screenings for articulation, language, voice, fluency, and hearing for students in Kindergarten through ninth grade, as well as special education and Title I students.
- Administer, score, and interpret diagnostic assessments to identify specific communication deficits.
- Use assessment results to develop appropriate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), select materials, and implement strategies aligned with student goals.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and services.
- Use audiometric tools to support diagnostic processes.
- Assist with state-required screenings and support the district's hearing conservation program.
- Maintain ongoing communication with staff regarding hearing and speech-language concerns.
- Provide follow-up screenings for previously identified students.
- Screen students referred by the school nurse to determine whether medical attention is needed.
- Inform staff of communication disorders and the referral process.
- Provide in-service training for teachers on diagnostic tools, remediation strategies, and classroom supports.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families and staff regarding student needs and progress.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the District or school site.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Appropriate Arizona state certification
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

SUMMARY
The Speech Pathologist participates in the screening, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of speech and language disorders for students across the district, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to read and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations; write reports, correspondence, and procedural documents; and present information effectively to colleagues, staff, parents, students, and community members.
They must be able to calculate mathematical concepts such as proportions, percentages, and basic algebra and geometry.
Candidates must also be able to solve practical problems involving a variety of variables and interpret instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position may require sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 25 pounds, and traveling between school sites. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
