Data Center Operator

Important Information

Location: Singapore

12 months contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Center Operator to join our Infrastructure team. You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the physical and virtual infrastructure of our data center to ensure maximum uptime, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor & Maintain: Oversee data center environmental systems, power, cooling, and security. Monitor servers, network devices, and applications using NMS tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or Datadog.

Incident Management: Respond to alerts, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and perform first-level break-fix for servers, storage, and network equipment

Physical Operations: Handle server racking/stacking, cabling, parts replacement, and asset inventory management

Access Control: Manage badge access, escort vendors, and enforce data center security protocols and SOPs

Change Management: Execute scheduled changes, patches, and maintenance activities during approved windows with minimal downtime

Documentation: Maintain accurate shift logs, incident tickets, asset records, and daily checklists in ServiceNow/JIRAVendor

Coordination: Liaise with facilities, ISPs, and hardware vendors for repairs, installations, and escalationsDisaster

Recovery: Participate in backup monitoring, tape handling, and DR drills as required

Required Skills:

Experience: 2–4 years in data center operations, NOC, or IT infrastructure support

Technical Skills: Basic understanding of server hardware, networking concepts, TCP/IP, and Linux/Windows OS

Tools: Experience with DCIM, ticketing systems, and monitoring tools

Certifications: CompTIA Server+, CCNA, or DC fundamentals preferred

Soft Skills: Strong communication, ability to work under pressure, and follow SOPs strictly
