Position Summary:
The Director of Finance provides strategic and operational leadership for all financial functions within a multi-entity senior living organization. This role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, and oversight of accounting operations, ensuring compliance with nonprofit and long-term care regulations while supporting the organization’s mission and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Budgeting
- Responsible for monthly financial preparation, interpretation, and distribution of monthly financial statements for all entities
- Present financial results to the CEO, leadership team, and Board of Directors
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department leaders
- Analyze financial performance using key ratios and industry benchmarks
- Prepare financial and statistical reports as needed
- Serves as a key staff on the Financial Committee and Foundation Committee of the Board of Directors
- Leads organizational investment strategies in partnership with Broker
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate annual audit process and prepare required work papers
- Ensure timely distribution of audited financial statements to stakeholders (Board, auditors, bond trustees, investors)
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and reimbursement regulations
- Manage required financial disclosures and reporting (e.g., bond documentation updates)
Revenue Cycle & Accounts Receivable
- Oversee private pay accounts receivable, billing processes, and collections (Medicare and Insurance is outsourced)
- Monitor aging reports and collaborate on strategies to resolve outstanding balances
- Ensure accurate recording of Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance and billing entries into the general ledger
Accounts Payable & Cash Management
- Supervise accounts payable, invoice coding, and vendor payments
- Manage cash flow, including weekly disbursements and payroll funding
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and analyze capital expenditures and disposals
- Oversee day to day banking, monthly bank reconciliations and year-end tax reporting (including 1099s)
- Prepare and monitor state and federal regulatory reporting, certifications and compliance.
Payroll & Benefits
- Ensure accurate payroll general ledger integration
- Partner with Human Resources on benefits administration and compliance matters
Leadership & Administration
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
- Support insurance renewals and risk management processes
- Oversee accounting and IT personnel, including performance management and development
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support organizational strategy events and financial health
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- 5–7+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership experience
- Experience in healthcare or senior living preferred, including knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement
- Strong understanding of audits, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting systems and financial software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central is required.
- Experience with UKG and PCC is preferred, but will be trained on during orientation period.
Pay: This is a salaried position with a budgeted range of $130,000.00-$165,000.00, depending on qualifications and years of experience.
