Position Overview



Wiley University invites applications for a full-time faculty position supporting our undergraduate humanities programs. We seek a dedicated scholar-educator passionate about delivering high-quality instruction in the humanities and fostering students' critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and understanding of human culture and experience. Candidates with expertise in various areas of humanities studies are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities



The successful candidate will:




  • Teach undergraduate courses in humanities, which may include Introduction to Humanities, World Religions, Philosophy, Ethics, Classical Studies, Cultural Studies, Interdisciplinary Humanities, and/or upper-level courses aligned with the candidate's area of specialization

  • Guide students in exploring fundamental questions about human existence, values, culture, and meaning through careful examination of texts, ideas, and artistic expressions

  • Develop students' critical thinking, analytical writing, and interpretive skills through engagement with primary sources and diverse cultural traditions

  • Provide academic mentoring and professional guidance to support student intellectual development and ethical awareness

  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessment practices, and continuous program improvement

  • Actively participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including support for interdisciplinary programming and cultural events

  • Engage in ongoing scholarship and professional development to maintain disciplinary currency and pedagogical effectiveness

  • Report to the Department Chair or designated administrator and contribute to departmental goals
