Project Manager 3, Supply MarketPlace (SMP)

Job Description

This role reports to the Director Project Management and supports the PMO of the GBT Supply Marketplace (GBT’s proprietary content aggregation and distribution platform). The Project Manager may be assigned to one or more projects related to the expansion of SMP to more geographies and tools, the planning and deployment of new platform features, and/or management of / documentation for the PMO tools and processes. The role has accountability for project planning and execution and process mapping to help efficiently deliver our platform and features. This is a unique opportunity for the job holder to contribute to GBT’s Supply MarketPlace growth.

Principal Accountabilities:

SMP expansion deployment project management:

  • Define & maintain all-encompassing deployment project plans with dependencies and dates
  • Define rollout plans & phases– including pilots. Place customers in each phase & consider exception criteria
  • Document issues & risks and ensure SMP is deployed with a do no harm approach to other products and processes
  • Manage communication of deployment plans, issues, risks, and escalations with business stakeholders (e.g., GSE) throughout the project
  • Communicate and represent SMP status in cross-functional steering committee meetings to all levels of the organization
  • Engage with global teams to ensure alignment with project scope and timelines.
  • Provide SMP deployment project management expertise and support to GBT Salesforce and Connect Client teams.
  • Partner with the GBT Deployment team to:
    • Create training requirements for new countries or updates in existing countries.
    • Perform constant review of deployment processes across GBT in existing countries.
    • Gather data & info needed to map new deployment processes and maintain existing processes.

SMP feature deployment & integration project management:

  • Partner with SMP Product to deploy new features and SMP enabled tools. Tasks may include project planning, execution, process mapping & documentation
  • Help roll out needed processes & job aids allowing seamless adoption of features
  • Manage configuration projects and associated processes for SMP Product Operations and find optimizations in workflows and processes. With the support of product, identify client supply data needs and collaborate with SMP ecosystem tools to ensure data is collected, maintained, and transmitted to SMP in structured data fields

SMP operational process improvements:

  • Map and iterate cross-SMP collaboration process improvements improving efficiencies and removing silos
  • Create documentation in support of these processes and train all SMP teams accordingly

PMO tools & processes:

  • Support the PMO strategy by creating tools, processes and documentation using Smartsheet, Office 365 and reporting tools
  • Support the communication of the PMO. This may include the management of Intranet pages, Confluence pages, creation of newsletters with updated from the product team
  • Support the compliance of the PMO. This includes the adherence to specific documentation needs in alignment with finance and legal requirements.
  • Support the PMO by creating documentation in support of these processes and train others accordingly

General responsibilities:

  • Identify and remove obstacles for SMP on all projects to ensure timely completion
  • Coordinate & host project meetings and send meeting notes with clear action items and timelines
  • Create and maintain project plans and ensure timely completion of all workstream tasks
  • Maintain strong relationships with counterparts from all teams
  • Provide professional and detailed status reports on project deliverables
  • Responsibility for budgeting where applicable
  • Limited travel may be required

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of solid travel industry experience, understanding of data flows in the travel industry ecosystem
  • Excellent project management, coordination, planning, and organizational skills
  • Proven experience with agile, waterfall and hybrid project management methodologies
  • Experience in product development / product operations / product deployment
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a complex, diverse, global, matrix and changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to navigate the organization, collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and overcome project barriers
  • Excellent time management, juggling tight deadlines with a focus on quality and details
  • Fast learner with the ability to quickly adapt and prioritize focus
  • Solid follow through with minimal management                                
  • Good Business & Technical Acumen
  • Familiarity with travel management. Travel operations or corporate experience is a plus
  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills
  • Great consultative and creative problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English
