Unit Background & Context:

The ITS Risk Management and Analytics (ITSRA) unit enables key WBG Risk functions managed by the Risk vice-presidencies and their corporate partners such as measure and monitor credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk to safeguard WBG institutions’ AAA rating and reputation.  The unit also engages with Treasury, WFA, and DFI to ensure proper capture, valuation, and support analytics around financial instruments and counterparties, and the risks they carry.
 
Role Purpose: 

• The nature of this function demands a keen business analytic ability to ensure that opportunities are seized to optimize efficiency, effectiveness (elimination of redundant tasks), and outstanding communication skills.  This requires that the candidate have: (i) excellent knowledge of capital markets business; (ii) up-to-date, best practice experience with SDLC; (iii) a robust, cross-functional perspective to be able to bridge the business to information technology gap; and (iv) a perceptive and diplomatic ability to prioritize requirements.

• The candidate must possess a good control of changing corporate objectives in a dynamic marketplace.   Moreover, the candidate must exhibit a clear comprehension and appreciation for the postulates and practice of IT Governance. 

• Candidate must have a deep understanding and experience with Project Management and its many facets.

Key Responsibilities: 

Defining Business Requirements

• Collects and documents business requirements, including establishing acceptance and evaluation criteria for Capital Markets line of business within the WB Treasury

• Defines configuration specifications and business requirements to ensure alignment with roadmap objectives

• Gathers and documents user requirements through interviews, workshops, and surveys

• Conducts market research to understand customer preferences and industry trends

Managing the Product Roadmap

• Assists with prioritizing the product backlog to align with business objectives and customer needs

• Develops and maintains documentation, including business process flows and user stories

• Collaborates with stakeholders to identify opportunities for product improvements and efficiency gains

• Supports sprint planning and reviews to ensure timely product delivery

System Testing

• Contributes to the development and execution of test plans to ensure quality deliverables

• Supports the testing and validation 

Selection Criteria

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant professional experience, or Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant professional experience, Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Core Domain Knowledge

• Solid understanding of Loan products

• Practical experience in Risk management, particularly Liquidity Risk and Asset–Liability Management (ALM)

• Working knowledge of Treasury and Capital Markets, including fixed income instruments and derivatives

• Understanding of Trade workflow and front  and back office business processes

Trade and Operational Processes

• Familiarity with the end to end trade lifecycle, including: 

• Trade capture

• Settlement and settlement messaging

• Accounting processes and controls

Product and Delivery Skills

• Demonstrated experience in: 

• Business requirements analysis

• Product backlog management

• Sprint planning and delivery within an Agile environment

• Data driven decision making

• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and/or Kanban

• Strong stakeholder engagement and business acumen

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Technical or Market Expertise

• Deep or specialized experience in: 

• Plain vanilla and structured instruments (e.g., bonds and swaps with complex payouts or optionality)

• Market data management

• Reporting frameworks and downstream data marts

• External and internal ratings methodologies

Systems and Tools

• Hands on experience with specific platforms or tools such as: 

• Trade capture systems (e.g., Pega, MarkitWire)

• Settlement messaging platforms (e.g., SWIFT)

• In house subledger or accounting systems

Advanced Product Capabilities

• Advanced proficiency in: 

• Product roadmap development

• Product requirements analysis

• Value proposition development

• Market research

Certifications

• CFA candidate or CFA designation

• Degree or certification in Risk Management
