    Purpose: To provide job-imbedded professional development and support to individual teachers in planning for day-to-day instruction, classroom management and interpersonal relations with students, parents and staff

    Responsible to: Director of Instructional Support

    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Demonstrates excellence in teaching and instructional support.
    2. Good understanding of district procedures and expectations.
    3.  Strong leadership and people skills
    4. Good working relationship with others.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Helps teachers new to the district feel welcome, secure and part of the El Dorado USD 490 teaching team.
    2. Provides leadership and inspiration to new teachers toward excellence in performance.
    3. Helps new teachers adjust to the work environment and expectations for El Dorado USD 490 professional staff.
    4. Provides information to new teachers about the community, school district, school building, faculty, professional development and students and needed.
    5. Attends meeting of mentors and/or new teachers as required.
    6. Provides professional development in the areas of classroom management, instructional efficacy, and communication to new teachers as well as those identified for additional support beyond their first year in the district.
    7. Makes contact with assigned teachers on a regular basis.
    8. Communicates as needed with building principal and/or other district resource personnel regarding questions and concerns raised by the new teacher.
    9. Completes and submits required reports.


    Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

    1. Requires prolonged sitting or standing, and use of equipment including repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue.
    2. Ability to handle a fast-paced, intense work environment.
    3. Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
