Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Delivers patient care within an assigned unit and recommends clinical quality improvement efforts.
Performs initial health screenings, physical assessments and monitor and document patient health including vital signs, medical histories.
Develops care plans, assess patient needs and coordinate services.
Ensures proper documentation and appropriate care as well as provide emergency treatment on-site and respond appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.
Consults with other medical providers and recommends treatment protocols to align with FCH’s healthcare standards and institutional policies.
Communicates information to nursing staff, physician, supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary.
Participates in onsite training, evaluations and monthly staff meetings.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
Maintains accurate records, and identifies potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned to support FCH’s goals, objectives and values.

Knowledge and expertise in public health, and the diagnosis and treatment of individuals.
Ability to provide proper patient care and adhere to protocols.

Requirements
Minimum Education and/or Experience Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing school program
Two (2) or more years of nursing experience in a clinical/medical setting OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Required Certifications and Licenses
Must have and maintain current RN licensure within the State of Georgia
Must have or attain a BLS Certification prior to the first day of employment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a correctional facility
Special Requirements: This position will be subject to a background check.
Physical Requirements: The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds with prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting at a desk, viewing a computer and reading a variety of materials. Must be able to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with your hands. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, such as typing for extended periods of time.

Summary
The Registered Nurse plays a critical role in providing quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse also provides patient education to prevent and manage medical conditions and improve the physical and psychosocial well-being of patients. This position will report directly to the Director of Nursing (DON) and Health Services Administrator (HSA).
