Job Description

General Duties and Responsibilities – All Accountant positions


  • Duties to include but not limited to include:
  • Maintains accounting databases by entering data in computer
  • Works with assigned stores to gather, process and record financial transactions at the store level
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Skills / Qualifications


  • Associates degree in business administration or relevant related work experience that includes 1-3 years of experience for level I
  • Associates degree in business administration or accounting and 5-8 years of experience for level II with preferred Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable general ledger and inventory transactions
  • Familiar with accounting software systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office applications experience and knowledge

Accountant II Differential:


  • Ability to serve as a lead for other accounting staff
  • Has the ability to train other accounting staff
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly / quarterly / annual reports

Reporting


-          Reports directly to Controller – Corporate Accounting Department
