Job Description

Summary
Winlock High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our high school football program as the Head Football Coach. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the game, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This full-time position requires a coach who can inspire and motivate players while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive football program that aligns with school values and promotes student-athlete development.
- Plan and conduct all practices, games, and team meetings, ensuring a focus on skill development, strategy, and sportsmanship.
- Recruit, train, and mentor assistant coaches and support staff to enhance the overall coaching staff effectiveness.
- Monitor and support the academic progress of all student-athletes to ensure eligibility and promote success in the classroom.
- Collaborate with athletic department staff, school administration, and parents to promote the football program and ensure a positive experience for all participants.
- Organize and oversee fundraising activities, community engagement events, and team-building initiatives.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to facilitate improvement and growth.
- Ensure compliance with all league, district, and state regulations regarding athletic programs.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all participants, addressing any issues of misconduct or safety concerns promptly.
- Foster a culture of respect, integrity, and sportsmanship among players, coaches, and fans.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, with a strong understanding of football strategies and techniques.
- Valid coaching certification and first aid/CPR certification.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best both on and off the field.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations and safety protocols in high school athletics.
- Commitment to promoting a positive team culture and fostering relationships within the school and community.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during the football season.
