Job Overview 

The Horticulture Intern is a seasonal, hands-on learning role designed to provide broad exposure to professional landscape and horticultural operations. Interns can rotate through multiple departments to gain practical experience in plant care, installation practices, nursery operations, and project execution while developing an understanding of quality standards, production expectations, and customer service within a professional landscape organization.

This internship emphasizes both technical skill development and professional growth, providing insight into how design concepts translate into field execution and how plant health, logistics, and team coordination contribute to successful project outcomes.

 

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Assist with general landscape maintenance and horticultural tasks

  • Support seasonal site preparation and property enhancement efforts

  • Participate in plant installation and landscape improvement projects

  • Assist with nursery or greenhouse operations, including plant handling and organization

  • Support plant health monitoring and general plant care practices

  • Help prepare materials and equipment for job sites

  • Follow company quality standards and safety procedures

  • Contribute to maintaining clean, organized, and professional job sites

  • Work collaboratively with team members and management to meet daily production goals

  • Observe and assist with interpreting landscape plans and project layouts

  • Participate in internal discussions related to plant selection, project planning, and field adjustments

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements 

  • Attendance in a current landscape related degree program 

  • Demonstrate some knowledge of landscape terminology, plant materials, or installation techniques

  • Ability to work in a team environment, and independently, including taking direction and constructive feedback from team members, as well as providing feedback to other team members

  • Willingness to learn and take initiative

  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and perform physical tasks

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
