- Work with and supervise classroom paraprofessionals when providing instruction.
- Deliver small-group or individualized instruction in core subjects (reading, writing, math).
- Use differentiated teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
- Teach organizational, study, and time-management skills.
- Prepare students for middle school expectations (class changes, multiple teachers, increased workload).
- Help students develop independence and self-advocacy skills.
- Support students in building confidence, resilience, and positive peer relationships.
- Implement SEL lessons focusing on emotional regulation and problem-solving.
- Address behavioral challenges using positive interventions.
- Work closely with general education teachers, special education staff, counselors, and administrators.
