Job Description

JOB TITLE:           Mine Mobile Maintenance - Welder             
DEPARTMENT:    Mine Maintenance     
LOCATION:           Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV
PAY GRADE:        N/A
POSITION REPORTS TO:    Mine Maintenance Shift Supervisor    
ROTATING SHIFT:  Yes ☒   
NONEXEMPT ☒      

Purpose & Scope of The Position:

Troubleshoot and execute welding repairs on mobile equipment in a manner, which improves the safety, efficiency, and endurance of our fleet. Learn new things and teach others, so that we can improve as individuals and as a team. Perform other functions and duties assigned by the Supervisor while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect KGHM’s values.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
  • Be a role model to others in safe behavior.
  • Fabricate parts, structures, and tools with or without prints or plans.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize, self-start, and work under limited supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.

 

Required Education, Work Experience & Training:

  • A valid Driver’s License. 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

 

Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:

  • Welding Trade School, Certifications or equivalent work experience.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Welding and/or cutting skills with: Oxy-Acetylene, SMAW (ARC), FCAW-G (MIG), Plasma, and Air-Carbon Arc Cutting.
  • The ability to read and understand prints and/or plans and be able to operate all fabrication equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to meet the required physical demands, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
