About the Department
Equipment Operator I is an entry-level Equipment Operator Position. Training on street maintenance equipment will be provided. Equipment Operator I will perform a variety of tasks including general labor and the operation of motorized equipment and hand tools used in the maintenance and/or construction of the City of Midland's street and drainage infrastructure and perform daily preventative maintenance on motorized equipment and/or hand tools.
Minimum Qualifications
The incumbent works in an outside environment; frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Must be able to lift working materials several times daily.
Other Qualifications
Minimum Education & Work Experience
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- 6 months experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

- Knowledge of operation and maintenance requirements of power-driven equipment

- Knowledge in care, operation and maintenance of various power tools and equipment
