LET’S EXPLORE THE ROLE

As a Calibration Technician, you’ll be responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy of BAI’s test and measurement equipment fleet. Using reference-standard equipment calibrated by NATA‑accredited laboratories, you’ll ensure lab and field instruments meet required performance standards and are available when teams need them.

This role combines hands‑on calibration work, asset and records management, and opportunities to contribute to automation and continuous improvement across RF Services Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Test Equipment Resource Plan, including allocation, availability and calibration schedules
  • Perform calibration of RF test and measurement equipment using manual and automated methods
  • Maintain calibration certification, traceability and records using MET/TEAM
  • Develop, document and maintain calibration procedures and workflows
  • Create and enhance automated calibration routines using SCPI and MET/CAL
  • Coordinate logistics for calibration, repairs and freight tracking of equipment
  • Support internal teams with calibration advice and technical queries
  • Maintain a safe, organised and compliant calibration laboratory environment

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU

You are technically hands‑on, detail‑focused and take pride in accuracy and traceability. You enjoy structured work, but also like improving processes and finding smarter ways to do things. Your experience and capability include:

  • Practical experience calibrating RF test and measurement equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers, oscilloscopes, power meters and test receivers
  • Sound understanding of calibration principles, standards and traceability
  • Managing calibration schedules, documentation and certification records
  • Familiarity with asset management and electronic ticketing systems
  • Exposure to automation using SCPI, with experience in tools such as MET/CAL advantageous
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow precise procedures
  • Comfortable working independently while supporting broader engineering teams

Desirable experience:

  • RF broadcast or telecommunications environments
  • Scripting or programming exposure (such as Python or C#)
  • Basic electronic repair capability
  • A criminal history check is required for this position.
