Job Description:
$33.551 / hour ($69,786 annual) up to $37.74 /hour ($78,499 annual)
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and conducts reviews and investigations, including extensive document review and interviews, related to deaths and serious injuries of children or adults in the relevant systems, complaints, as well as other issues or significant events.
- Prepares agency information requests
- Research laws, rules, records and evidence
- Conducts on-site visits and personal interviews
- Analyzes government program functions, documents and activities
- Monitors data and key performance indicators
- Identifies issues, specific problem areas, appropriate actions, resolution strategies or recommendations.
- Prepares extensive written records including letters, memoranda and reports
- Documents work on office forms and records
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of administrative experience, preferably with state government. A relevant graduate degree may substitute for two years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Graduate or law degree
Other: Requires a valid driver's license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position and working on a computer
- Ability to conduct on-site visits to state correctional facilities and related sites
- Requires a valid driver's license
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA):
- Knowledge of investigative procedures and techniques
- Knowledge of the structure and operation of federal, state and local government and the Legislature
- Knowledge of state statutes, regulatory provisions and case law affecting the subject matter issues and work of the office
- Astute analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with senators, legislative staff, stakeholders and the public
- Ability to work independently, organize and manage work and maintain confidentiality
- Detail oriented and deadline driven
