Position Overview
BlackDoctor is seeking a Senior Web Developer to lead the development, optimization, and ongoing performance of our digital platform. This role requires a strong technical leader who can balance user experience, scalability, and monetization within a high-traffic digital media environment.

Location: US (Remote)

Salary: $ 100,000

Experience: 5+ years

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain the WordPress platform, including custom themes, plugins, and integrations

  • Oversee video player integrations, such as the Brightcove player or similar video players

  • Manage and optimize the ad technology stack, including Google Ad Manager, ensuring fast ad load speeds, consistent ad delivery, and performance

  • Drive improvements of site performance, including Core Web Vitals, page load times, and mobile responsiveness (mobile and tablet)

  • Establish and enforce best practices for website hygiene, security, and system reliability

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex front-end and back-end issues

  • Collaborate with cross-functionally with teams including editorial, marketing, product, and revenue

  • Mentor and manage junior developers and define development processes and standards 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in web development, with strong expertise in WordPress

  • Proven experience working with Google Ad Manager, implementing digital display advertisement placements with various functionality (e.g. sticky adhesion, parallax, etc.) across desktop, mobile and tablet and working with various ad technologies

  • Experience with managing and implement video platforms such as Brightcove or equivalent, within WordPress

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern development practices

  • Strong understanding of performance optimization, caching strategies, and CDN usage

  • Experience managing high-traffic, content-driven websites

  • Knowledge of technical SEO and website hygiene best practices

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with programmatic advertising, header bidding, or yield optimization

  • Familiarity with analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics) and data-driven optimization

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD workflows
