    Compensation: $183 per day

     

    Position Overview:
    Salisbury Central School seeks a dynamic and student-centered Long-Term Substitute Art Teacher to support students in grades EK�8 from May 6 through June 19, 2026. The successful candidate will foster creativity, inspire a love of art, and provide a structured, inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and learning.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate art instruction aligned with district curriculum and standards
    • Foster students' artistic skills, creativity, self-expression, and appreciation of the visual arts
    • Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment using effective classroom management practices
    • Promote student engagement and uphold school policies and procedures
    • Assess student learning and use data to inform instruction
    • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success
    • Support school and district initiatives related to instruction and student development
    • Engage with community resources, as appropriate, to enhance student learning experiences

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Art Education or related field preferred
    • Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Art (PK�12) preferred
    • Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
    • Candidates must meet all district requirements for substitute teachers

     

    Working Conditions:
    Salisbury Central School is a PK�8 elementary school located in rural Northwest Connecticut and is part of the Region One School District. The school serves approximately 300 students in a supportive and collaborative environment.
