About the Department

JOB SUMMARY
The Finance Intern assists the Finance Department by performing tasks related to accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general accounting duties.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists with month-end financial reports.
  2. Assists with bank statements reconciliation
  3. Assists with accounts payable and receivable.
  4. Assists with utility billing.
  5. Assists with business licensing/taxes.
  6. Assists with balance sheet reconciliation.
  7. Assists with the preparation of ad hoc and other internal reports.
  8. Ensure the completion of assigned tasks in line with established deadline
  9. Composes and inputs journal entries.
  10. Scans and files departmental documentation.
  11. Assists with month-end financial reports.
  12. Support the payment processing team
  13. Performs data entry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  1. Knowledge of general accounting principles.
  2. Ability to comprehend and work with data processing system.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate with all internal and external contacts.
  4. Ability to effectively compose routine correspondence and reports.
  5. Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to calculate decimals and percentages.
  6. Ability to keep information confidential due to the content of documents being handled.
  7. Ability to work independently.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a currently enrolled college student with a major in accounting, finance, or public administration.
  2. Current and valid driver’s license.
  3. Proficient in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
  4. Willingness to work effectively both independently and on a team.
