Position Title: Part-Time Janitorial Custodian

Department: HR/PR
Reports to: HR Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Position Summary

The Part-Time Janitorial Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized environment across office and manufacturing areas. This role supports the overall workplace by ensuring facilities are presentable, safe, and well-maintained for employees and visitors.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors

- Dust surfaces and clean windows to maintain a tidy and professional appearance

- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areas

- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces

- Replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper

- Maintain cleanliness in common areas including offices, breakrooms, hallways, and production spaces

- Clean and maintain kitchen/breakroom areas, including appliances and surfaces

- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed

- Report maintenance issues, damages, or supply shortages to appropriate personnel

- Follow all safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

- Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred

- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safe handling practices

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines

- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

- Embodies organizational core values (authentic, driven, humble, trustworthy)


Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday 

- Ability to perform repetitive motions such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping 

- Ability to lift 20–30 pounds regularly 

- Ability to operate janitorial equipment such as vacuums and cleaning carts 


Work Environment:

- Work performed in both office and manufacturing environments

- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and industrial conditions

- Exposure to noise, equipment, and production activity in manufacturing areas

- Must wear required personal protective equipment in accordance with company safety policies, including company-provided safety glasses and employee-provided steel-toed footwear; additional PPE may be required based on job duties.

- Part-time position with a flexible schedule based on business needs; hours may vary to accommodate operational needs and employee availability
