Position: Engineering Intern (Mechanical)
Position Overview:
This role is an internship role to support our Engineering group in daily activities including detailed engineering analyses and product/process optimizations. The candidate will be assigned an Engineering Mentor who will coach and provide support for issues and projects assigned. The individual will be responsible for key projects, process improvements, learning the product line, and bringing new ideas into the engineering/operations team. This individual will support the Research and Development, Nuclear Quality Assurance, and Project Engineering teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist engineers with technical design reviews projects
- Plan and manage development/design project
- Coordinate prototype and qualification testing for new product development projects
- Drive and participate in process improvements within the engineering department in an effort to meet departmental metric goals
- Provide 2D &3D CAD modeling support as needed
May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisor
Core Qualifications:
- Active pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree
- Sophomore level or higher in an accredited engineering program with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be able to commit to work from mid May-mid August in office
- Excellent communication skills with ability to contribute on project teams
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal, communication, decision making, and problem solving skills
- Ability to use engineering design and analysis tools, as well as Microsoft Office software and other productivity tools
