03/18/2026 NOTICE OF POSITION OPENING- Assistant ECEAP preschool teacher
TITLE: Assistant Preschool Teacher
DUTIES: Create a Supportive Environment: Provide a healthy, safe, and nurturing classroom atmosphere
using positive behavior supports. Prepare Students for Success: Help preschoolers get ready for kindergarten
and their future education. Ensure Compliance: Complete tasks to meet ECEAP, Early Achievers, and
Department of Children, Youth, and Families requirements. Implement Behavior Management: Use the
Pyramid Model and Conscious Discipline framework for behavior guidance. Support the Lead Teacher: Assist
with small group activities and help with Teaching Strategies Gold assessment documentation. Assist with
Creative Curriculum lessons. Promote Inclusion: Support a full inclusion classroom and assist with student
transitions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements include one of the following: 1) Complete
30-hour Child Care Basics training AND 2) Hold a Childhood Development Associate credential or (3)
Documentation of at least 12 college quarter credits in Early Childhood Education, or a Professional
Development Plan describing how to obtain full qualifications within five years 3) Or hold an associate
degree in early childhood education. Candidates must be at least eighteen years of age, hold a basic and
infant/child CPR certification, first aid and blood borne pathogen (HIV/AIDS) training, pass TB test with
a negative result, hold a valid Washington State Driver’s license, and pass a state and federal background
check, including registering with MERIT. A valid food handler’s permit is preferred. This position
requires documented child development education or work experience. This position requires the
following physical requirements. 1) Ability to lift 45 pounds 2) Stand up 95% of the day 3) Assume
postures in low level positions 4) Bend to perform various tasks numerous times throughout the day 5)
Stoop and sit on the floor, as well as other requirements listed in the job description. Excellent
interpersonal communication skills are required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: The position will begin immediately. The salary range of pay rates will be
$19.25/hr. to $33.65/hr. Benefits included.
WORK SETTING: This position is located at Valley School District and reports to the Early Learning
Center Director. This position is Monday – Friday 9 AM to 5:30 PM
