The Town of Scarborough is seeking a full-time Technical Field Support Supervisor to join the Information Technology (IT) team. The position is responsible for the day-to-day field services and support of hardware, software, audiovisual equipment and other peripherals based on standards established by the Director. The Technical Field Support Supervisor manages the personnel and assigned task pipeline for all Field Technicians and serves as an escalation point for issues in the field at each phase level. Additionally, this position provides back up assistance as necessary, performing routine tasks of Field Technicians, conducting training, and coordinating projects for core software and hardware including, but not limited to the Google Suite, Office 365, Windows OS, Chrome OS, Papercut, Epson projection and other identified systems and services.
The employee interacts considerably with Town and School management and staff at all levels. Independence, initiative, resourcefulness, analysis, and follow-through are expected of the employee in the normal conduct of the work. Work is reviewed periodically by the Deputy Director of Information & Technical Services through observation, oral and written reports, and feedback from employees for responsiveness and timeliness, quality and quantity of the services provided, resourcefulness, foresight, and perceptiveness in identifying issues and concerns for attention.
Position requirements: Associates Degree or equivalent in experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related technical discipline required. Comp TIA A+ and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications preferred. Solid knowledge of standard computer hardware and software capabilities, configurations and limitations as well as experience working in a large K-12 educational environment characterized by satisfactory performance. Minimum five years of experience with professional technical implementation, practices and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills in a team-based technical environment; excellent written and oral communications skills. The equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered at the Town's discretion.
