Job Description

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview

Travel Required | Western U.S. (including but not limited to UT, NV, CA, AZ) | Murrieta, CA HQ

The Project Engineer role establishes the foundational skills for long-term growth and success at Colorado West Construction (CWC). This position serves as the first step in developing strong technical, managerial, and communication abilities within a commercial construction environment.

On a daily basis, the Project Engineer supports coordination between CWC team members, project owners, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role provides hands-on exposure to all phases of construction and prepares individuals for future leadership opportunities within the company.

This is a full-time, site-based position requiring extensive travel to project locations throughout the Western Region. Travel subsistence and additional incentives are provided in accordance with company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Scheduling

  • Assist with construction scheduling, timeline tracking, and project reporting
  • Participate in and document project coordination meetings
  • Support communication between Project Manager and Superintendents

Procurement & Field Coordination

  • Assist with procurement and expediting of materials and equipment
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor field installations and progress
  • Review and coordinate shop drawings and submittals

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Monitor and help document job-site safety practices and accident prevention efforts
  • Support quality control initiatives and project closeout activities
  • Maintain accurate project records, logs, and compliance documentation

Technical & Administrative Support

  • Assist with RFIs, change orders, and construction documentation tracking
  • Research and recommend options related to construction means, methods, and equipment
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents to align site activities with project plans

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • General knowledge of construction principles and practices
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred

  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on active construction sites
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs

Annual Salary : $75k-90k

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8-hour shift
