    Job Description

    Gloucester Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) teacher (grades 6-8) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons that align with the school's curriculum and standards, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting the academic and social development of students.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in ELA
    • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that meet the diverse needs of students
    • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
    • Use a variety of teaching strategies and instructional resources to address different learning styles and abilities
    • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use data to adjust teaching strategies
    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes mutual respect and effective learning
    • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community to support student learning and development
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and developments
    • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
    • Implement school policies and procedures and maintain high standards of classroom management.


    Certification

    • New Jersey State Certification as a Middle School English Language Arts Teacher #1106

    Education

    • Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

    Experience

    • Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
