Join our team as a Retail Operations Manager and help bring the Conservancy’s park stores to life! Under the general direction of the VP of Visitor Experience, the Retail Operations Manager is responsible for the financial management of the Conservancy’s retail stores, overseeing a team of retail associates and ensuring that our stores run smoothly. This full-time role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in supporting a team that connects people to the Conservancy’s mission every day.

Requirements
- BS in business or finance is preferred but not required.
- Business and accounting experience preferred, including office administration and management.
- Experience using POS (point of sales) system, strong mathematical aptitude, and ability to operate a computer and essential software programs autonomously.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously with the aptitude to define problems, draw valid conclusions, and implement solutions based on available facts.
- Skilled in managing and motivating a multi-dimensional and multi-generational team.
- Communicate and adapt to a wide variety of people and situations, demonstrating an appropriate level of composure, courtesy, and patience.
- Fluent in English with the ability to speak, read, and write clearly and coherently.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
Physical aspects of the role:
- Standing and walking on hard surfaces for up to 8 hours per day.
- Moving between retail locations and buildings, frequently over uneven terrain.
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Significant phone and keyboard use.
- Participate in two-way or multi-dimensional communications with multiple people.
- Noise level is moderate to loud.
- Exposure to industrial hot and cold equipment, institutional size equipment, and sharp objects.
Summary
What you’ll do:
- Manage all financial aspects of retail operations, maintain accurate records, and prepare detailed operational reports.
- Administer POS database, enter orders, create vouchers, and process invoices.
- Prepare monthly team schedules, oversee timekeeping, and approve time off.
- With Retail Manager, oversee daily store operations including shipping, customer support, and e-commerce operations.
- With Retail Manager, conduct hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Supervise Assistant Retail Manager, part-time sales associates, and volunteers.
- Maintain stock, transfer products between retail locations, and assist with physical inventory.
- Troubleshoot store register and IT issues, overseeing equipment operation and maintenance.
- Cover cashier shift duties as needed.
