Job Description

Summary:


To provide management, safety, and technical expertise for the orderly daily operation of the Facilities
Services department.


 


Qualifications:



  • Associate’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.

  • Considerable experience (5 years) in the field of commercial building operations to include; extensive experience in mechanical systems, electrical systems, electronics systems and related fields, including experience in supervision and life safety.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the building and maintenance trades; ability to plan and coordinate a comprehensive maintenance program utilizing materials and labor resources; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and other officials; ability to initiate correspondence as well as to prepare reports. 


Essential Duties:



  • Monitor and schedule all maintenance activities using proprietary software, as well as Microsoft and Google Software products.

  • Monitor building functions and maintain building management software.

  • Supervise Facilities Services maintenance technicians.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with school personnel.

  • Provide support to inspect, evaluate and report the condition of a school building and its equipment to determine if repair or replacement is necessary.

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule as required to include assisting other school employees after normal operating hours.

  • Determine and manage funds necessary for normal repair, replacement, and maintenance of school equipment, and buildings.

  • Monitor the securing of prices, and issuing of purchase orders for contracted services and materials as per the purchasing policy and procedure.

  • Provide input to renovation projects and new construction.

  • Assist the Director with various requirements of all local, state and federal regulatory agencies.

  • Be available to answer inquiries regarding departmental operations.

  • Provide various training workshops for maintenance and/or custodial employees.

  • Be available to perform hands-on maintenance tasks after normal working hours, or when shortage of maintenance employees, or severe weather conditions require it.

  • Be available to answer questions or address concerns regarding school facilities. 

  • Provide leadership to an effective preventative maintenance program.

  • Provide leadership to an effective energy conservation program.

  • Other duties as may be assigned through the immediate supervisor


Pay Rate:


The salary range is $67,951-$111,895

Full time / 12 months / 245 days

This position is effective with the 2026-2027 school year
