Job Description

Position Summary:  
The Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining the plant machinery in working order. 

Essential Job Functions/Duties: 

  • Read / understand operating manuals for plant machinery (steam gen, air comp, wire rollers) 
  • Interpret parts manuals for purchasing 
  • Identify / troubleshoot electrical faults in equipment and building 
  • Identify / troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems 
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment (meters), and hand tools 
  • Be proficient with fabrication tools (welding, oxy/acetyl torch) 
  • Repair plant equipment (steel forms, machinery, and building) 
  • Help develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules 
  • Meet safety and housekeeping policy and procedures  

Required Qualifications: 

  • 1+ year(s) industrial maintenance (mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, fabrication, pneumatic) 
  • Some technical training / certifications
  • Must work well independently with little direction 
  • Intermediate mathematic skills 
  • English –some Spanish is a plus 

Critical Skills: 

  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors in meeting production goals 
  • Quick thinker / strategic planner / flexible / problem solver 
  • Time management, demonstrate a sense 'urgency' 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

  • Exposed to high levels of concrete dust
  • Work outdoors but may on occasion work indoors. Temperatures may vary due to weather
  • Regularly wear protective attire, such as hard hats and steel-toe boots
  • Exposed to sound and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable
  • Work in extremely bright or very dim lighting conditions 

Shift/Hours Expectations 

  • Mon – Fri (weekends when needed)
  • 50 - 60 hours/week
  • Possible night shift
