Hicks Nurseries, the premier retail and wholesale garden center on Long Island, is hiring Seasonal employees for our busy Spring season! 

 

Positions are available across our Nursery Yards, Greenhouses, Receiving Area, Customer Service, and Cashiering, with opportunities in both our Retail Store and Wholesale divisions.

 

With a proud legacy in the industry, Hicks offers a fast-paced, friendly environment where collaboration and high standards are central to how we work.  If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and helping customers, this could be the perfect seasonal job for you!

 

  • Seasonal positions begin in March/April and typically run through early July, depending on the role.  Morning and day shifts are available.

 

***Weekend and holiday availability required for some positions****

 

Requirements

  • Friendly, customer-focused individuals who enjoy engaging with people
  • Team players with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to be on your feet and stay active throughout the entire shift
  • Comfortable working in all types of weather and temperatures
  • Willingness to get a little dirty—our work environment can be muddy, dusty, and hands-on

 

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs (depending on position)
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to push and pull carts
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the workday

We sell trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, tropical plants, houseplants, garden and plant care merchandise, decorative pots and containers, patio furniture, outdoor living accents and décor, and more. Additionally, we are Long Island’s largest Christmas store selling fresh trees, wreaths, roping, and centerpieces; artificial trees and greens; indoor and outdoor lights and lawn décor; ornaments and collectibles of all types; and much more!
