POSITION SUMMARY

Buyer is responsible for executing the material supply plan to achieve 100% build-in-station targets (Process Metrics) and inventory goals for assigned suppliers. Accurately completes transactions in Oracle to maintain data integrity and achieve performance targets. Maintains clear communication with suppliers to provide accurate information that supports the business plan. Operates professionally and ethically in all aspects of the role. Manages easy to medium complex suppliers but could be assigned more strategic suppliers with support for complex situations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Completes daily workload accurately and on time to support targets for P.O. validity, past-due and planned late orders, MRB, requisitions, P.O. creation, UORs, variances, and matching holds.
  • Expedites P.O.s, collaborates with customers to prioritize and achieve optimal results, manages P.O.s according to guidelines, and utilizes different P.O. types.
  • Handles simple to moderately complex tasks with minimal supervision while effectively addressing questions about existing policies and processes.
  • Advises suppliers and internal clients on issues and demonstrates sound judgment in routine matters by applying explicit rules.
  • Supports problem-solving efforts, understands key supply chain concepts, participates in meetings to address issues, and maintains updates to data and minutes. Conducts defined work assignments Knows when to escalate issues with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintains a positive attitude as an active participant, respects defined schedules, and proactively advises on roadblocks and their impacts with relevant references, dates and source locations. Monitors and responds to basic KPIs to drive performance improvements.
  • Develops and sustains professional relationships with suppliers and internal customers to ensure proper execution of assigned tasks.
  • Identifies supply-related issues, escalates concerns on parts that will not meet need dates, and flags them for visibility.
  • Reports the status of parts delivery in Oracle and MSR to support leads during daily parts meetings and helps set plant priorities.
  • Identifies underperforming suppliers, works with the manager as needed, and supports supplier improvement plans.
  • Submits engineering documentation (new part releases or changes) to suppliers in a timely manner and supports first article documentation requirements.
  • Supports Traffic personnel in securing documentation for the shipment of goods (e.g., Bills of Lading, Customs and Duty, WHMIS, MSDS, or other governmental documents as needed).
