| TYPE: | This position works Monday-Friday; 8 hours per day/ 261-day calendar year. |
| COMPENSATION: | Range 44; Schedule A; Step 1: $7,464.19 - Step 5: $8,924.71 Monthly |
| TYPE OF RECRUITMENT: | This is a OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment to establish an eligibility list and fill a vacancy. The eligibility list will be used to fill vacancies that may occur during the life of the eligibility list. In a promotional and open recruitment, the promotional list shall take precedence. If the promotional list contains fewer than three eligible and willing ranks, certification of additional ranks shall be made from the open list. |
| TESTING PROCEDURE: | The examination process will consist of an evaluation of the submitted supplemental questionnaire (embedded in the application) and an oral technical interview. Applicants will be notified of their application status via email. |
| DESCRIPTION: | Under the direction of the Director of Food Services, the Wellness & Nutrition Manager serves as the Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist (RDN) for the District’s Food Services Program and ensures the nutritional quality and compliance of school meals within the district. This position is responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing menus that meet the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and California Department of Education (CDE) guidelines. The Wellness & Nutrition Manager will also assist with the supervision of cafeteria operations and lead the district's wellness committee, driving the development and implementation of wellness policies that promote the health and well-being of students and staff. | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: | Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill would be: Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification issued by the California Commission on Dietetic Registration. Certification in food safety and sanitation (e.g., ServSafe). Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in school nutrition programs, food service management, nutritional analysis, or a related area. Strong knowledge of the NSLP, CDE, and other relevant guidelines/regulations. |
| LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: | Possession of a valid California driver’s license. |
